Code 1 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for domestic shipment of new articles that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = None.

Code 2 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for domestic shipment of new reciprocating and turboprop/turboshaft engines that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = None.

Code 3 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for domestic shipment of new turbojet/turbofan engines that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = None.

Code 4 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for domestic shipment of new propellers that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = None.

Code 5 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for export shipment of new articles that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = Original only.

Code 6 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for export shipment of new reciprocating and turboprop/turboshaft engines that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = Original only.

Code 7 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for export shipment of new turbojet/turbofan engines that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = Original only.

Code 8 - Issue Original/Recurrent airworthiness approvals for export shipment of new propellers that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = Original only.

Code 20 - Conduct conformity inspections to determine that prototype articles, parts, and or assemblies conform to the design specifications.  Limitations = None.

Code 21 - Conduct conformity inspections to determine that prototype engines and/or propellers conform to the design specifications.  Limitations = None.

Code 22 - Conduct conformity inspections to determine that prototype aircraft conform to the design specifications.  Limitations = None.

Code 23 - Conduct installation conformity inspections.  Limitations = None.

Code 24 - Conduct any inspections to determine that production approval holder articles, parts, and or assemblies conform to the approved type design and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = None.

Code 25 - Conduct any inspections to determine that production approval holder engines and/or propellers conform to the approved type design and are in a condition for safe operation.  Limitations = None.

Code 26 - Issue conformity certifications on behalf of the CAA for articles manufactured by U.S. suppliers for non-U.S. product manufacturers.  Determinations of conformity to the design, test, and quality requirements may be accomplished by a DAR at any location, authorized by the FAA and only after the FAA has received notification from the CAA of the country in which the product is located.  Limitations = None.

Code 28 - Conduct conformity inspections on Test Articles and Test Set-ups.
